Tim Peake Joins Axiom Space As Astronaut Advisor

British astronaut Tim Peake is set to once again make his mark on the space industry, this time as an astronaut advisor for Axiom Space. The former European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of a potential all-UK human spaceflight mission.

Peake, who captured the nation's imagination with his historic Principia mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2015, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. His appointment is seen as a major boost for the UK's ambitions in space exploration.

As a strategic advisor, Peake will be instrumental in securing funding and developing a strategy for the ambitious mission. The proposed all-UK spaceflight aims to showcase the UK’s capabilities in the commercial space sector and inspire a new generation of scientists and engineers.

“I am thrilled to join Axiom Space and contribute to this pioneering effort,” said Peake. "An all-UK mission represents a significant opportunity for our country to establish a strong presence in the commercial space sector. I look forward to working with Axiom Space and the UK Space Agency to advance this exciting possibility."

Dr Paul Bate, chief executive of the UK Space Agency, expressed enthusiasm about Peake’s appointment: "Tim Peake is an incredible ambassador for the UK space sector and having him on board the Axiom Space team is a real boost for our work towards a UK astronaut mission."

The news has generated significant excitement among the UK public and the space community as a whole. With Peake’s guidance, the UK is poised to take a significant step forward in its space exploration journey.
