Turion Space Nears Liftoff: Initial Space Situational Awareness Service On Horizon

Turion Space, a young Californian company making waves in the space industry, is nearing a significant milestone. Their debut satellite, Droid.001, is on track to begin offering space situational awareness (SSA) services by May 2024, after nearly a year of successful commissioning in low Earth orbit (LEO).

This news comes from a recent industry conference, where Turion Space CEO Ryan Westerdahl revealed the exciting update. "We're thrilled to announce that Droid.001 is performing exceptionally well," said Westerdahl. "Following the initial calibration phase, we've successfully opened the door to the imaging sensor, and it's capturing valuable data on objects orbiting Earth."

Turion Space is dedicated to providing SSA services, which involve tracking and monitoring human-made objects in space, including operational satellites, debris, and defunct spacecraft. This information is crucial for ensuring the safety and sustainability of space operations.
